Fisheries Monitoring on the Jemez River @ Valles Caldera and Hummingbird Music Camp
May 7 all-day

River Source will work with students to participate in fisheries monitoring at two locations on the Jemez River. There will be 25 students present from Los Alamos Middle School. Staffing will be provided by Department contractors, Richard Schrader and Carlos Herrera. The students will compare data collected on fish health and compare upstream and downstream results.

Bear and Cougar Presentation @ Meadowlark Senior Center
May 26 all-day

NMDGF will give a presentation to members of the Meadowlark Senior Center on bears and cougars. This event is only for members of the center.

LCPD Youth Leadership Fishing Days @ Alumni Pond

River Source will work with students to participate in a fishing day at Tingley Ponds for approximately 43 students (Rio Rancho High). Staffing is provided by Department contractor, Richard Schrader and Carlos Herrera. The event will also include fisheries monitoring on the Rio Grande and the Ponds. This event is just for students and not open to the public.

Free Fishing Day 2020

Anglers can fish for free in New Mexico on Saturday, June 6, as the state celebrates National Boating and Fishing Week.

Anyone can fish for free in public fishing waters throughout the state Saturday, June 6, but everyone must observe bag limits and all other rules and regulations. For more information, please visit
