Results: Pheasant and Sandhill Crane permits

Draw Results for Pheasant and Sandhill Crane permits will be available Wednesday, August 30 at 10:00 am. Successful applicants must have a game hunting license and applicable stamps (plus HIP number for crane) in addition to their draw permit. Licenses are available online, by phone or at any license vendor.

Public Meetings: Proposed Changes Pronghorn Rule

To gather public comments, four public meetings will be conducted:

  • Albuquerque: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Department of Game and Fish office, 3841 Midway Place, NE.
  • Las Vegas: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the New Mexico State Police Office, 520 South Commerce.
  • Roswell: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Department of Game and Fish office, 1912 W. Second St.
  • Las Cruces: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Department of Game and Fish office, 2715 Northrise Drive.

OHV Safety Class: ATV @ ABQ Shooting Range Park

All students must pre-register prior to class.

Online training is also available that provides the required safety permit after completion (see Safety and Training: Online Training tab).

New Mexico law requires anyone younger than 18 to obtain a safety permit prior to operating an OHV on public lands. The Department offers free hands-on ATV or dirt bike training that provides a safety permit after completion. Students must provide a properly registered OHV and all necessary safety equipment.
