This workshop is required to become a certified hunter education instructor and will certify you to teach both the Standard and the Field Day Hunter Education student courses. This workshop will also provide the NM Hunter Education certification to new instructors who need a required NM hunter education number.

This clinic is sponsored by the Las Cruces area Girl Scouts. We will begin the clinic with a lesson on fish biology including proper fish handling techniques. This will be followed with a lesson on knots, equipment assembly, hook safety, casting and baits. The scouts and their families will spend the rest of the day fishing. This workshop is in support of Trout in the Classroom. We will begin the workshop with a discussion on habitat and water quality. The students will assist in aquarium setup, developing proper feeding schedules and will learn how to complete water quality tests.
