Adult Women-Beginner Shotgun Shooting Clinic @ City of Albuquerque Shooting Range Park

The NM Department of Game and Fish is hosting a shotgun shooting training clinic for adult women who have never shot or have very limited experience with shooting shotguns. Trained staff will teach safety, basic shooting techniques, cleaning the gun and how to properly shoot a shotgun and be successful at shooting clays.

Shotguns, ammo and clays will be provided. Please bring a lunch, water, sunscreen and whatever else you need, we will not be taking a full lunch, and there are not any food places near by.

Registration opens March 11 and closes April 1, or when the class is full.

Adult Warm-Water Beginner Fishing Class @ Albuquerque Game and Fish Office

Class offered to adults (over 18) who have limited fishing experience.  Please do not register if you are an experienced angler or under 18 years of age.  Participants will learn how to cast, fish i dentification, fishing techniques, equipment and gear, knot tying, and rules and regulations.  We won’t be fishing but attendees will learn everything necessary to catch black bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie, walleye, white bass and yellow perch.  Non-mandatory, but participants can bring the following: their own rod and reel, and a fishing license.

Fishing Workshops @ Jal Public Schools

This fishing clinic is for the pre-K students at Jal Public School. The fishing clinic will consist of fishing safety, knots, equipment, casting and fish identification.  We will be fishing at Jal Lake.

Casting Skills with Dolores Gonzales Elementary School 5th Graders @ Tingley Park

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish will be teaching Casting Skills with Dolores Gonzales Elementary School 5th grade class across the street at Tingley Park. The casting skills will be followed with fishing at Tingley Beach on April 10.

These workshops and fishing clinic are for the third-grade students of Jose Public School in Silver City. The workshops will consist of fishing safety, knots, equipment, casting and fish identification.  We will be fishing at Bill Evans Lake.
