Hunter Education @ Juan I Gonzales Agricultural Center

This course is open to students of any age seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led student course that incorporates lecture, video, hands-on break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Students 10 and under must have a parent or adult present with them during class. All registered students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. The manual can be downloaded for free at www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/ or students can pick up a free hard copy manual at Juan I Gonzales Agricultural Center, 202 Chamisa Road, Taos, NM 87571. Students are required to turn in their completed manual worksheets upon arrival to class.

Registration opens on Feb. 19 at 9 a.m. and is conducted online through the student’s Customer ID Number (CIN) Account. Once in the account, click on Hunter Education then click the Register for Hunter Ed Classes button and follow the prompts.

Advanced ATV Law Enforcement Training @ Grant County
Mar 9 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program will present a class on Advanced ATV LEO safe operation training for Grant County Sheriff’s Department deputies. This class was rescheduled from Feb. 2-4 due to inclement weather. This event is closed to the public.

Off-Highway Motorcycle safety class @ City of Albuquerque Shooting Range Park or Montessa Park

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents an off-highway motorcycle safety class hosted by City of Albuquerque Parks & Recreation. Students earn the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under the age of 18 years. Dirt bikes and safety gear are available for use during the class.

Registration Details:
Space is limited – all students must have a free account with the Department of Game and Fish (https://onlinesales.wildlife.state.nm.us/). Students must be at least 6 years of age.
