Hunter Education @ Grant County Extension Office

This course is open to students of any age seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led student course that incorporates lecture, video, hands-on break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Students 10 and under must have a parent or adult present with them during class. All registered students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. The manual can be downloaded for free at www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/ or students can pick up a free hard copy manual at the Grant County Extension Office, 2610 N. Silver St., Silver City, NM. Students are required to turn in their completed manual worksheets upon arrival to class.

Hunter Education with Live Fire @ New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Southeast Area Office

This course is open to students eight (8) years of age and older seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led student course that incorporates lecture, video, hands-on break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to participate in a live fire component on the Department’s pellet rifle shooting trailer. Students 10 and under must have a parent or adult present with them during class. All registered students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. The manual can be downloaded for free at www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/ or students can pick up a free hard copy manual at the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Southeast Area Office, 1615 W College Blvd., Roswell, NM 88203. ATV Safety Class @ Village of Los Lunas River Park
Feb 24 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program will present an ATV safety class provided by the Village of Los Lunas Open Space Division. Students earn the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under the age of 18 years. ATVs and safety gear are available for use during the class.
