Albuquerque Fishing Clinic

This event is sponsored by the Albuquerque Girl Scouts. We will begin the clinic learning about the different types of fishing gear followed by hook safety, knots, casting and baits. The scouts will spend the rest of the day fishing with their families. This event is closed to the public.

Hunter Education Instructor Training Workshop @ Navajo Lake State Park - Navajo Dam NM
Nov 23 @ 8:00 am – 6:00 pm

This workshop is required to become a certified hunter education instructor and will certify you to teach both the Standard and the Field Day Hunter Education student courses. This workshop will also provide the NM Hunter Education certification to new instructors who need a required NM hunter education number.

Create a Customer Identification Account (CIN) with the Department. Fill out a volunteer application at https://new-mexico.volunteers.kalkomey.com/ Once the application is approved, signup through your CIN account.

Festival of Cranes @ Bosque del Apache

The Department will be participating at the Festival of Cranes in San Antonio, NM. Come see our backyard bass program, focusing on casting skills, and a wildlife information trunk at this event.

Off-Highway Vehicle Advisory Board Meeting @ NMDGF

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Advisory Board will meet in public session to hear the following: OHV budget update, general program update, OHV education update, OHV law enforcement update and to establish dates for the next advisory board meeting. The Department’s Off-Highway Vehicle Program has an annual budget funded by revenue generated from the Trail Safety Fund. The OHV Act required the creation of the Trail Safety Fund, which generates revenue from OHV registrations fees. The OHV Advisory Board was established to advise the Department of Game and Fish on matters related to administration of the OHV Act. The board consists of seven members appointed by the governor to two-year terms.

No registration is required; if attending the meeting please arrive before 5:30 P.M.
