2017 NM Governor’s Special Hunt Auction & Banquet @ Creative Arts Bldg, Expo NM

Steven Rinella, host of the hit TV show MeatEater, will join the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish at the Governor’s Special Hunt Auction and Banquet. Once again, the department will be auctioning over a dozen premier hunting and fishing packages to benefit the Game Protection Fund of New Mexico.

Don’t miss your opportunity to bid on one of many spectacular hunts, including elk, ibex, oryx and mule deer, coues deer, pronghorn, turkey, upland game hunting and premier fishing excursions.

There will be many other items in the live auction, silent auction, raffles, and games including additional hunts, over 25 firearms, hunting, fishing and camping gear, art, and much more! Proceeds benefit the NM Youth Conservation Foundation’s First in the Field program.

Ticket prices for this event are $500 for a Reserved Table for 10, $100 per couple and $55 for a single. All tickets include a gift.

2017 New Mexico State Championship NASP Tournament

Registration: Jan. 4 – Feb. 10, 2017. Registration fee: $10 per shooter.
National Tournament: Date TBD, Kentucky Exposition Center, Louisville

Tournament Rules and Information

  1. NASP students only are eligible (student must be a participant of an in-school curriculum lasting 2–8 weeks).
  2. Teams may consist of 12–24 archers which must include no fewer than four of one gender.
  3. Competitions will consist of teams from three divisions: Elementary (fourth–fifth); Middle (sixth, seventh and eighth); and High school (ninth–twelfth).
  4. Teams with qualifying scores* will be eligible to attend the National Tournament in Kentucky Exposition.
    The team score equals the sum of the top 12 archers, which must include no fewer than four of one gender.
    * Qualifying scores for each division are based upon Tier Day registration. Information will be available later this month on the National Tournament’s registration page.
  5. First-place team in each division qualifies for the National Tournament, regardless of team score.
  6. Every registered coach for each team must be BAI (Basic Archery Instructor) certified.
  7. Coaches / teachers are encouraged to include alternate team-members to ensure adequate team size on the tournament date.
  8. Coaches / teachers must provide a cellular telephone number for the coach or teacher of the team.
  9. Lunch will not be provided. Food vendors will be available. Teams are allowed to bring food or leave for the event for lunch.

Deadline: 2016–2017 Late Harvest Reports
Mar 22 all-day

Deadline to submit late 2016–2017 harvest reports for deer, elk, pronghorn antelope and turkey ($8 late fee applies). Reporting is required for all 2016–2017 license holders to be eligible for 2017–2018 draw licenses. 

Failure to report for these species by this date will result in rejection of all draw applications. Additional species hunting and trapping harvest-result reporting deadlines are listed in 2017-2018 Hunting Rules & Info Book (click here).

Deadline: 2017 Big-Game Draw Application

Deadline to apply for Draw Licenses for Barbary sheep, bighorn sheep, deer, elk, ibex, javelinapronghorn antelope and oryx, and to apply for Private-land Only Deer License for Units 2A, 2B, 2C, 4 and 5A. Applications must be completed before 5 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time (MDT).

Failure to report harvest results and pay any applicable late fees for deer, elk, pronghorn antelope and turkey by this date will result in rejection of all draw applications.
