This position is responsible to perform the duties of planting, cultivating, pesticide application, irrigation and habitat manipulation for resident/wintering waterfowl and all other wildlife on the Bernardo Waterfowl Management Area. This position will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment and farm equipment such as tractors, plows, cultivators, sprayers, grain drills, discs and mowers, dozers, backhoes, road graders, scrapers, and transports. This position must work with the manager and assistant manager on the wildlife management area to monitor and track the daily operations and production of the wildlife management area to ensure its success. This position will be responsible for significant overnight travel throughout the state of New Mexico to assist in heavy equipment, land management, and agricultural related activities on other wildlife and waterfowl management areas under Game Commission ownership. This position must know statutory regulations for the Ladd S. Gordon Waterfowl Management Complex and respond to questions and comments from the public.

This position will provide administrative support regarding fiscal matters, property management, management of information systems and database management for the Department’s hunter education program. Process purchase documents accurately following established protocols and state regulations. Accurately enter hunter education course data into a database. Provide information to the public regarding hunter education class availability, registration processes and other Department youth hunting programs. Provide a high level of support to volunteer instructors for class supply requests and document processing. Provide and update registration processes for statewide hunter education classes. Create and maintain accurate filing systems for all important and required documents and maintain an accurate inventory checkout system for class supplies and inventory. Quality Assurance Manager (DGF #10110011)

This position is accountable for testing and assuring quality of all systems developed at New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF) via designing and developing test scripts and adapting automated testing processing. This position will create test plans, utilize and manage defect tracking, and coordinate user acceptances. In addition, the position will conduct load, regression testing to validate system changes has not introduced issues in non-modified system areas, and the system’s performance is scalable to accept variable number of users (loads). The NMDGF Information Systems Division (ISD) develops and maintains custom applications in collecting, managing, and auditing of 100% of the funds used to support NMDGF operations. These systems include applications to sell licenses and draw permits, management of guides and outfitters, management of citations, and management of federal grants hours, miles, and dollars. The accuracy and functionality of these systems are critical to NMDG operations, some are reviewed by state, and federal auditors to validate NMDGF is performing operations appropriately. By not meeting the auditor’s standards, NMDGF could lose federal grants funding or potentially face fines or other restrictions.
