New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program staff will present an off-highway motorcycle safety class hosted by City of Albuquerque Parks & Recreation. Students will earn the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under the age of 18 years. Dirt bikes and safety gear are available for use during the class.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Aquatic Education program will be fishing with middle school students from Aldo Leopold Charter School from Silver City at Bill Evans Lake on April 26.

New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program staff will present an ATV safety class at the Department’s Southeast Area Office in Roswell, New Mexico. Students completing the class receive the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under the age of 18 years on public lands. Students under the age of 18 will also receive a free helmet and goggles. ATVs and safety gear will be available for use during the class.

Students must be at least 6 years of age. Space is limited – all students must already have or must create a free account with the Department of Game and Fish (https://onlinesales.wildlife.state.nm.us/), and register prior to the class to ensure that each student will have an age- and size-appropriate training ATV available.
New Mexico Department of Game and Fish staff will be fishing with Aztec Elementary School kindergartners on two consecutive days, May 2 -3, 2024, at Riverside Park Pond. There will be approximately 100 students participating in 4 outdoor stations, one of which is fishing. The event is closed to the public.

Department staff will be fishing and showing wildlife trunks to kids with the Moriarty-Edgewood School District Early Childhood Center.
