RIPARIAN IMPROVEMENTS
Rio Senorito Riparian Pasture Fence (Albuquerque Field
Office), CB3.
The project work in this riparian area, located on BLM property
southeast of Cuba, included the removal of salt cedar, fencing
of the riparian corridor, and construction of compensating dams
to reduce erosion.
Lower Sacramento River Fencing (Lincoln National Forest),
SEF80.
This project, completed in phases over a number of years, involved
the fencing of a corridor along the Lower Sacramento River. The
end result is a waterway that has narrowed and deepened providing
improved habitat for fish and a healthier riparian system.
Reservoir Expansion (Kiowa National Grasslands), NEK2.
Located near Clayton, this project consisted of enlarging the
existing water area and construction of a resting island for waterfowl.
Both game and non-game species use the area.
