The big game enhancement package consists of one license each for deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, oryx and Persian ibex. Two authorization packages will be auctioned to the highest bidders for the 2014-2015 season. One package will be auctioned during the Wild Sheep Foundation's National Convention in Reno, NV, Jan. 22-25, 2014. The other package will be auctioned during the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Banquet, March 1, 2014 in Tucson, AZ..

The bag limits are one fork-antlered deer, one mature bull elk, one oryx of either sex, one ibex of either sex, and one mature buck pronghorn (see pages 131-133 of the 2014 Hunting Rules and Information booklet for bag limit definitions).

All hunts are for any legal sporting arm (specific weapons restrictions in certain areas still apply). Licenses will be valid on all public lands where hunting is allowed, and private land with written permission. For oryx, winning bidders must contact New Mexico Game & Fish two weeks in advance of the proposed hunt start date to schedule access to WSMR, and must be accompanied by a badged department employee or WSMR escort when on WSMR lands.

The season dates are September 1, 2014 through January 31, 2015 for deer and elk, April 1, 2014 through March 31, 2015 for ibex and oryx, and August 1 through November 1, 2014 for pronghorn.

For more information, please visit www.wildsheepfoundation.org. The auction winners choose one of the available hunts (see page 93 of the 2014 Hunting Rules and Information booklet for hunt details).
