ATTENTION NEW MEXICO BIG-GAME HUNTERS


New MANDATORY harvest reporting requirements are in effect for 2013-2014

to maintain eligibility for 2014-2015 big-game hunts


Beginning this hunting season, harvest reports will be mandatory for all deer, elk, trapper, turkey, Barbary sheep, oryx, ibex, pronghorn antelope and javelina license holders. A report must be filed if the hunter possesses any of these licenses, even if they don’t hunt or harvest.


On or before February 15, 2014, hunters can submit free harvest reports for deer, elk, pronghorn antelope and turkey licenses, after which a late fee of $8.00 will apply.


On or before April 7, 2014, hunters can submit free harvest reports for Barbary sheep, ibex, oryx, javelina and trapper licenses, after which a late fee of $8.00 will apply.

Your harvest report provides New Mexico Game and Fish with valuable information to effectively manage the state’s wildlife resources.

 

All applicants who fail to submit a harvest report for deer, elk, pronghorn antelope or turkey prior to the March 19 big-game application deadline will be rejected from the 2014 big-game draw.


All applicants who fail to submit a harvest report for Barbary sheep, ibex, oryx, javelina or trapper on or before April 7, 2014 will be rejected from the 2014 big-game draw.

 

 

Current Reporting Requirements

 

Hunters who possessed a deer, elk or trapper license for the 2012-2013 season must file a late report (with payment of the $8.00 late fee) before purchasing any 2013-2014 big-game hunting license, including secondary sale, web-only sale, Private Land Use System license, population management license and others.

Caution: Submitting false or fraudulent harvest information may result in revocation of your hunting, fishing and trapping privileges for up to 3 years.
