Hunter Education @ Pecos Independent School District

This course is open to students of any age seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led student course that incorporates lecture, video, hands-on break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Students 10 and under must have a parent or adult present with them during class. All registered students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. The manual can be downloaded for free at www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/ or students can pick up a free hard copy manual by calling the instructors once registered. Students are required to turn in their completed manual worksheets upon arrival to class.

Registration Details:
Registration opens at 9 a.m. on Feb. 14 and is conducted online through the student’s Customer ID Number (CIN) Account. Once in the account, click on Hunter Education then click the Register for Hunter Ed Classes button and follow the prompts.

Hunter Education @ Forest Service Station

Hunter Education with Live Fire @ N. Rio Grande Sporting Club

This course is open to students of any age seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led student course that incorporates lecture, video, hands-on break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to participate in a live fire component on the Department’s pellet rifle shooting trailer. Students 10 and under must have a parent or adult present with them during class. All registered students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. The manual can be downloaded for free at www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/ or students can pick up a free hard copy manual at the New Mexico State Police Office, 1410 N. Paseo de Oñate in Española. Students are required to turn in their completed manual worksheets upon arrival to class.

This course is an instructor-led student course that incorporates lecture, video, hands-on break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Students 10 and under must have a parent or adult present with them during class. All registered students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. The manual can be downloaded for free at, www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/ or students can pick up a free hard copy manual at Laguna Police Department, I-40 West, Exit 117 (S side of the interstate), Laguna, NM. Students are required to turn in their completed manual worksheets upon arrival to class.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Aquatic Education program will be working with the Wood Gormley

After-School Outdoor Club.  Rigging a rod and casting will be taught.

Casting and New Mexico Fish ID Lesson Plan with Bandelier Elementary School @ Albuquerque, NM

Department staff will teach three 45-minute lessons to three different third-grade classes that are participating in the Trout in the Classroom program. The lessons will be about New Mexico fishing, how to cast and land a fish and identifying different game fish in New Mexico. This event is closed to the public.
