The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents an ATV safety class provided by the Village of Los Lunas Open Space Division. Students earn the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under the age of 18 years.
ATVs and safety gear are available for use during the class.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish is hosting a Hunter Education Camp in beautiful Queen, New Mexico at the Guadalupe Christian Camp south of Carlsbad. Registration for this unique hunter education course opens on April 3 to youth 10 years of age and older who have not yet passed hunter education. Youth must have an adult register and participate in the camp with them.
Participants will have the chance to earn their hunter education certification while at camp and also shoot .22 rifles and archery! This hunter education opportunity includes lodging in gender-specific dorms and all course equipment, participants simply pay $50.00/camper to the host facility for their meals Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast.
To qualify for the camp, participants must have a Customer Identification Number account with the department and complete the required homework before attending.

This activity will be used to allow members of the public, both young and old, to be introduced to archery and archery hunting. This station will be one of several stations utilized during a mini expo for the Grant County area in hopes that the local community can see a different side of the conservation officer. All are welcome to attend.

The NMDGF Aquatic Education Program will be working the fishing station at the Wood Gormley Elementary School Trout in The Classroom fish release at Monastery Lake. NMDGFs program will be one of three stations for the kids.

NMDGF Aquatic Education will be studying aquatic macroinvertebrate insects, knot tying, setting up fishing rigs and fishing with up to 40 youth from E.J. Martinez Elementary School. Kids will be fishing in the children’s pond and possibly the Pecos River right next to the pond.
