This course is open to students seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led, student course that incorporates lecture, video, virtual break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students and will also include a live-fire portion on the range (all firearms and ammunition are provided; personal firearms are not permitted). A Field Day course is an accelerated, instructor-led hunter education course and is for students 10 years of age and older. Students under 11 must have a parent/adult present with them during class. This course incorporates less lecture and review and adds more hands-on components. All students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before class. Students can pick up a free hard copy manual at Bluewater Lake State Park, 30 Bluewater St. Park Rd., Prewitt, or the manual can be downloaded for free at anytime from, hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/. 2023 National Archery in the Schools (NASP) New Mexico State Tournament @ Rio Rancho Events Center

NASP is an in-school program that introduces target archery to students in 4th-12th grade. Annually the department hosts the New Mexico NASP State Tournament to recognize top teams and individuals throughout the state. ATV Safety Class @ Village of Los Lunas River Park

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents an ATV safety class provided by the Village of Los Lunas Open Space Division. Students earn the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under the age of 18 years.

ATVs and safety gear are available for use during the class.
