National Hunting & Fishing Day 2021

Anglers can fish for free in New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 25, as the state celebrates National Hunting and Fishing Day.

Anyone can fish for free in public fishing waters throughout the state Saturday, Sept. 25, but everyone must observe bag limits and all other rules and regulations. For more information, please visit

Kindergarten Fishing Day @ Riverside Park Pond, Aztec NM
Oct 1 all-day

The NMDGF will be conducting a fishing clinic and a Conservation Education animal trunk presentation with up to 100 Kindergarten and 1st grade students at Riverside Park, Aztec, New Mexico on October 1, 2021. Most, if not all of the participants have little to no angling experience. The students will be broken up into groups of 25, and sub-divided into groups of five. All COVID restrictions, including NMDGF restrictions will be followed.

STEM Showdown @ Watrous, NM

NMDGF will be participating at the STEM Showdown to discuss careers in Wildlife & Fisheries Management and to show some specimens of wildlife.

Closed to the public, open for participating students only.

Fishing Day @ Raymond G. Sanchez Senior Center
Oct 15 all-day

16 seniors, age 50 and older from the Raymond G. Sanchez Senior Center will be participating in a fishing event at Tingley Beach on October 15, 2021.
