The annual New Mexico Outdoor Adventure Show is back to its regular winter date this year! The show hosted by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish opens Friday, Feb. 17 (Noon-6 p.m.) and continues on Saturday, Feb. 18 (9 a.m.-6 p.m) and Sunday, Feb. 19 (10 a.m.-5 p.m.). The event will again be at the Manuel Lujan Building at Expo New Mexico, located on the state fairgrounds in Albuquerque.
This year’s event features hands-on demonstrations of the latest equipment for hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation. Off-highway vehicles, recreational vehicles, boats and kayaks will be on display by local dealers. Conservation organizations, outfitters and guides will be on hand to answer questions. Youth participants will have an opportunity to learn or enhance skills at the free catch-and-release fishing pond. This year’s show will feature its first turkey calling contest, and will host dozens of other interactive activities.
Admission is free to all licensed anglers and hunters. Youth 18 and under get in free and everyone else pays just $3. See you there!

This course is an instructor-led, student course that incorporates lecture, video, virtual break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students and will also include a live-fire portion on the range (all firearms and ammunition are provided; personal firearms are not permitted). Students 10 and under must have a parent/adult present with them during class. All students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. The Department of Game and Fish and the Department of Veterans Services have teamed up to provide open house opportunities to community veterans seeking information about unique services and opportunities provided to them. Each agency, along with other partners, will be available to answer questions as well as register veterans for programs, services and opportunities during this event. The Game and Fish Department will specifically provide information on hunting and angling opportunities available to veterans as well as provide help in purchasing licenses and applying for hunting opportunities through the public draw.
