This event is free but not open to the public. The training will be held at the Department of Public Safety State Police Academy in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

National Hunting & Fishing Day 2021

Anglers can fish for free in New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 25, as the state celebrates National Hunting and Fishing Day.

Anyone can fish for free in public fishing waters throughout the state Saturday, Sept. 25, but everyone must observe bag limits and all other rules and regulations. For more information, please visit www.wildlife.state.nm.us.

For information about where to fish and what to use, consult the department’s weekly fishing and stocking report. Maps of public fishing waters, lists of where to find family-friendly fishing and tips on how to fish also can be found on the department website.

Advanced ATV Law Enforcement Training @ Lea County Sheriff's Department, Lovington, New Mexico

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish was asked to provide certified advanced ATV law enforcement training to first responders of the Lea County Sheriff’s Department. This event is free but not open to the public. The training will be held in Lovington, New Mexico at a closed-to-the-public outdoor training facility.

Off-Highway Vehicle; All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Safety Training @ City of Albuquerque Shooting Range, New Mexico

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish will offer an all terrain vehicle (ATV) safety training to the Todd Nims’ Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI) class. This is a free training and is closed to the public. The training will be held at the City of Albuquerque Shooting Range; training machines and safety gear are available, no sharing. Each student must bring weather appropriate clothing (gloves, boots, long pants and long sleeved shirt), a snack or lunch, water and sunscreen.

Students of any age must have a customer identification number with the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. All students must preregister to reserve a place in the class. To preregister or to get more information please visit www.B4Uride.com or call Christopher Johnson.
