Have you ever wondered how the Department sets hunt dates, harvest limits and overall hunt structure?
2022 is a big year for hunting in New Mexico. The Department and State Game Commission will be reviewing nine rules that oversee big game hunting. It is an excellent time for everyone to get involved. We will give you the meat and potatoes for the rule-setting process during the January session.
Register in advance for this meeting:
You can also view previous social hours on the Department’s YouTube page.
The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish will offer a free all-terrain vehicle (ATV) safety training to the public. Training machines and safety gear are available, no sharing. Each student must bring weather appropriate clothing (gloves, boots, long pants and long sleeved shirt), a snack or lunch, water and sunscreen. COVID precautions will be followed; COVID plan is available for download when registering for class.
