The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents an ATV safety class open to the general public and 4-H participants. Students earn the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under the age of 18.
ATVs and safety gear are available for use during the class. A parent or guardian must remain on site during the class.

This Bowhunter Education Course is an instructor-led, student course approximately 8 hours in length. This traditional style of course is for students of any age that incorporates lecture, video, hands-on and review methods to educate students. Students 10 and under must have a parent/adult present with them during class. All students MUST complete the Today’s Bowhunter student manual homework or earn the Field Day Qualifier Voucher from the online Bowhunter Course (user pay) at www.bowhunter-ed.com/newmexico/ before arriving to class. Students can pick up a free hard copy manual from NM Department Game and Fish Office, 7816 Alamo Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM. Students are required to turn in their completed worksheets upon arrival to class. Students may bring their own archery equipment to class or can use provided archery equipment.

Registration opens on June 26 and is conducted online through the students Customer Id Number (CIN) Account. Once in the account, click on Hunter Education then click the Register for Hunter Ed Classes button and follow the prompts.
This workshop is required to become a certified hunter education instructor and will certify the individual to teach both the Traditional and the Field Day Hunter Education student courses.
This workshop also provides a New Mexico Hunter Education certification to new instructors who need a required New Mexico hunter education number.

Interested applicants need to first become a certified NMDGF volunteer. Below are the steps to become a certified volunteer:
1. Create a Customer Identification Account (CIN) with the Department at https://onlinesales.wildlife.state.nm.us/
2. Contact Conservation Education Manager Storm Usrey at stormw.usrey@dgf.nm.gov to obtain necessary volunteer paperwork.
3.Once all paperwork is approved, certified volunteers can sign-up for the hunter education workshop through their CIN account
The NMDGF Education Division staff will be fishing with 25 students plus adults, of the Santa Fe Home school community at Monastery Lake on July 19, 2023. Students will practice casting, put their own rigs together, fish and break their rigs apart.
