These workshops and clinics are for the students of Mesa View school in Grants NM. Workshops will cover hook safety, knots, casting and Fishing in New Mexico. Fishing clinics will be contcted at the Riverwalk park and Bluewater State Park.

The NMDGF Aquatic Education program will be fishing with 100 Kindergarten elementary school students from Lydia Rippey School Fishing Day, at Riverside Park Pond, Aztec, New Mexico. Many of the students have never fished before.

Join City Nature Challenge ABQ, the Greater Phoenix City Nature Challenge, and City Nature Challenge El Paso for an evening of showcasing and identifying observations made during the challenge in our 3 cities. Come help us ID, or learn about how it’s done for different animals and plants.
The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish will offer a free off-highway vehicle (OHV) safety training to the public. Training machines and safety gear are available, no sharing. Each student must bring weather appropriate clothing (gloves, boots, long pants and long sleeved shirt), a snack or lunch, water and sunscreen. COVID precautions will be followed; COVID plan is available for download when registering for class.
Students must have a customer identification number with the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. All students must preregister to reserve a place in any class that is offered. This camp is for participants of any age who is interested in learning more about the basics of archery and bowhunting. Participants will learn archery basics and safety, how to choose equipment, proper shot placement while hunting, outdoor preparedness, and more! All archery equipment will be provided. Participants are responsible for food and drinks.
Registration opens on April 18. Registration forms will be available for download off the following Game & Fish web page, https://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/education/skills-camps/ and click on the Shooting tab. All participants must have a Department Customer Id Number (CIN) Account and enter this number onto the registration form. Youth under 18 must have a parent or adult present during the camp.

This camp is open to youth ages 10 to 17 who are accompanied by a registered adult. Camp is free, meals will be provided and participants will tent-camp on the property. Registration will open May 9 at 9am, and forms will be available at https://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/education/hunter-education/ under the Hunter Ed Camps tab. Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Participants will learn safe and responsible firearms handling, ethical hunting behaviors, conservation, wildlife identification and basic survival skills. Additionally, participants will learn from department conservation officers about their jobs including wildlife investigations, decoy operations, working with wildlife and test their marksmanship skills with bow and arrows. All equipment will be provided. All COVID protocols and health orders that may be in place at the time of the camp will be followed and enforced.
To qualify for the camp, participants must have a Customer Identification Number account with the department and complete the required homework before attending.
NMDGF will be giving a wild turkey presentation to kids at a summer program with Nature Ninos.

We would love to hear from the OHV/ATV community about your experience on our public lands while also cleaning up to ensure future generations the same opportunity.
