The NMDGF Aquatic Education Program will be providing equipment, bait and tackle for fishing with 44, K – 2nd Grade students, assisted by chaperones & teachers at Eagle Nest Lake. The fishing trip is a school sponsored event with the help of NMDGF.

The NMDGF Aquatic Education program will be assisting Las Cruces Public Middle / high School Adaptive EE / Recreational Therapy classes for three fishing days at NMSU Alumni Pond. The event is sponsored by the NMSU Bass Fishing Club, and an estimated 72 participants per day will be fishing.

The Pajarito Environmental Education Center and Los Luceros Historic Site are creating the New Mexico Outdoor Pass program, a FREE booklet and community events for families where everyone gets rewarded for spending time outside. Participants will explore eight themes relating to the nature and culture of the region to earn stamps and prizes. One of the themes is FISH! I For this event i will cover hook safety, knots, casting and fishing in the Rio Grande.
These workshops and clinics are for the students of Mesa View school in Grants NM. Workshops will cover hook safety, knots, casting and Fishing in New Mexico. Fishing clinics will be contcted at the Riverwalk park and Bluewater State Park.

The NMDGF Aquatic Education program will be fishing with 100 Kindergarten elementary school students from Lydia Rippey School Fishing Day, at Riverside Park Pond, Aztec, New Mexico. Many of the students have never fished before.

Join City Nature Challenge ABQ, the Greater Phoenix City Nature Challenge, and City Nature Challenge El Paso for an evening of showcasing and identifying observations made during the challenge in our 3 cities. Come help us ID, or learn about how it’s done for different animals and plants.
C.A.S.T. for Kids events enrich the lives of children with special needs, support their families, and strengthen communities through the sport of fishing. On May 7, a C.A.S.T. for Kids event will take place at Navajo Lake. Community volunteers will be attending to take up to 40 special kids and their parents/guardians fishing and boating on the lake. Fishing will be followed by a picnic lunch for all, and an awards ceremony where each child is honored. All participants receive a free rod and reel, tackle box, event t-shirt, cap, and award plaque.
