This class is open to women who are interested in learning the basics of fly fishing. This session will focus on fly fishing equipment selection, knot tying, selecting lures/flies, reading the water for best catching results, skills to hook, land and release a fish, what you need before you go, and much more! This is a BYOL (bring your own lunch event).
This class is being offered by volunteers from the Bosque Chapter of Trout Unlimited, and no equipment is required.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents an ATV safety class provided by the Village of Los Lunas Open Space Division. Students earn the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under 18 years of age.

The Aquatic Education team will conduct a presentation on how to teach fishing in a PE program. We will be conducting two in-service sessions (9:30-10:15 a.m. and 1:05-1:50 p.m.) – one for elementary PE teachers, and one for secondary PE teachers. The sessions will focus on how the teachers can bring a fishing curriculum into their PE programs and what resources are available to them.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents an ATV safety class at the old racetrack at the Doña Ana County Fairgrounds, site of the Southern New Mexico State Fair.
Students completing the class receive the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under the age of 18 years on public lands. Students under the age of 18 will also receive a free helmet and goggles.
ATVs and safety gear will be available for use during the class.

This course is open to students of any age seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led student course that incorporates lecture, video, break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Students 10 and under must have a parent/adult present with them during class. All students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. Students can pick up a free hard copy manual at Eunice Pump Supply, 321 N Main, Lovington, NM. The manual can also be downloaded for free at https://www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/. Students are required to turn in their completed manual worksheets upon arrival to class.
