NMDGF Aquatic Education will be studying aquatic macroinvertebrate insects, knot tying, setting up fishing rigs and fishing with up to 40 youth from E.J. Martinez Elementary School. Kids will be fishing in the children’s pond and possibly the Pecos River right next to the pond.

This event is for the 4th graders of Portales. The fishing workshop will cover safety, knots, equipment, and casting followed by a fishing clinic held at Oasis State Park.
A Field Day course is an accelerated instructor-led hunter education course and is for students 10 years of age and older. Students under 11 must have a parent/adult present with them during class. This course incorporates less lecture and review and adds more hands-on components and a live fire component. All students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before class. Students can pick up a free hard copy manual at Albuquerque Game and Fish Office, 7816 Alamo Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120, or the manual can be downloaded for free at anytime from, hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/. Students are required to turn in their completed manual worksheets and a signed parent authorization to participate in the live fire portion upon arrival to class.

This event is for adults with disabilities in the Roswell area. The fishing workshop wiLl cover safety, knots, equipment, and casting followed by a fishing clinic held at Lake Van.
This camp is for participants of any age who are interested in learning more about the basics of archery and bowhunting. Participants will learn archery basics and safety, how to choose equipment, proper shot placement while hunting, outdoor preparedness, and more! All archery equipment will be provided; however, participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment if they have it. Camping is available at the state park by reservation.
Participants are responsible for food and drinks.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents a class on enforcement of the Off Highway Vehicle act to BCSO officers so they can learn the laws on OHV’s in New Mexico. Traffic and open space units will be attending.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents a class on enforcement of the Off-Highway Vehicle Act to Aztec Police Department officers so they can learn the laws on OHV’s in New Mexico.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents a class on ROV safe operation training for Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department deputies. BCSO open space requested training on ROVS due to the purchase of new machines.
