The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish invites you to attend the 2022 New Mexico Outdoor Adventures Hunting & Fishing Show. Admission to the show will be $3 for adults or free to youth under the age of 18 or anyone who holds a valid New Mexico hunting or fishing license.
The annual event opens to the public Friday, noon-6 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
This year’s event features hands-on demonstrations of the latest equipment for hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation. Off-highway vehicles, recreational vehicles, boats and kayaks will be on display by local dealers. Conservation organizations, outfitters and guides will be on hand to answer questions. Youth participants will have an opportunity to learn or enhance skills at the free catch-and-release fishing pond. All visitors can enjoy the pellet shooting range, sponsored by the Bernalillo 4-H, and the archery range. A silent auction will give participants the chance to win one of over 10 New Mexico bighorn sheep European-style mounts.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish has scheduled a public meeting in order to allow the Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) to discuss and prioritize current Habitat Stamp Program project opportunities. Members of the public are invited to attend this hybrid public meeting in order to provide comment(s). The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish was asked to provide Off-Highway Vehicle Act certification training to basic State Police Academy cadets at the New Mexico Dept of Public Safety Academy. This event is free but not open to the public. The certification training will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico at a closed to the public indoor training facility.
The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish was asked to provide Off-Highway Vehicle Act certification training to basic Basic Police Academy cadets at the San Juan County Criminal Justice Training Authority. This event is free but not open to the public. The certification training will be held in Farmington, New Mexico at a closed to the public indoor training facility.
Department staff will conduct a range cleanup at the department’s Tres Piedras shooting range on Sept. 21, 2022. The range will be closed to the public on this day for staff safety.
Anglers can fish for free in New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 25, as the state celebrates National Hunting and Fishing Day.
Anyone can fish for free in public fishing waters throughout the state Saturday, Sept. 24, but everyone must observe bag limits and all other rules and regulations. For more information, please visit www.wildlife.state.nm.us.

This workshop is required to become a certified hunter education instructor and will certify the individual to teach both the Traditional and the Field Day Hunter Education student courses. This workshop also provides a NM Hunter Education certification to new instructors who need a required NM hunter education number. All participants must register prior to attending. Interested applicants need to first become a certified Game and Fish volunteer. Below are the steps to become a certified volunteer:

NMDGF will be working the Bernardo Youth Pheasant Hunt. This hunt is only open for youth who drew a permit.
The City of Clovis, in cooperation with NMDGF, is excited to announce the opening of the Clovis Wing-Shooting Complex and Archery Range at Ned Houk Park, located at 726 C R 17. This newly constructed multi-faceted facility includes four trap/skeet overlay fields, a 12-station sporting clays course, indoor and outdoor archery ranges, an indoor airgun range, and a multipurpose building for hunter education and other activities. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be open to the public on Oct. 25, 2022, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Video Series Premiere – Drawing Your Way to Success!
Join New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Communications Director Darren Vaughan and Licensing Operations Manager Chad Nelson as they discuss the ins and outs of the 2023-2024 Big Game Draw in the first video of the department’s “Drawing Your Way to Success” series. The video will premiere at 5 p.m. MST Friday, Jan. 20 on YouTube at https://youtu.be/IYFnzBK28oU. The video will be available from this date forward for you to watch at your convenience. We will be premiering additional videos to help you throughout the draw season. The deadline for Draw 1 (bear and turkey) is Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. MST, and the deadline for Draw 2 (Barbary sheep, bighorn sheep, deer, elk, ibex, javelina, pronghorn, oryx, and private-land only deer licenses in Units 2A, 2B, 2C, 4 and 5A) is March 22 at 5 p.m. MST. Game Commission to meet Jan. 27
SANTA FE – The New Mexico State Game Commission will hold a virtual meeting starting at 9 a.m., Friday, Jan. 27. The full agenda, attendee information and additional information will be available on the Department of Game and Fish website.
