This workshop is for certification as a Basic Archery Instructor for participation in the National Archery in the Schools Program. The Department will be hosting a pre-bid Zoom meeting to answer questions potential contractors may have about becoming a Department hunting/shooting/fishing camp contractor. We will provide an overview of what responsibilities the contractor would have as well as general requirements.
Overview: Camp contractors will host day and overnight hunting, fishing and shooting camps, as needed and determined by the Department. We encourage anyone interested in becoming a camp contractor to attend this meeting. However, attendance is NOT MANDATORY to place a bid. The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents a class on ROV safe operation training for Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department deputies. BCSO open space requested training on ROV due to the purchase of new machines.
The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents an ATV safety class provided by the Village of Los Lunas Open Space Division. Students earn the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under 18 years of age.
ATVs and safety gear are available for use during the class.
NMDGF will be showing camp participants wildlife specimens and talking about wildlife.
The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents a class on enforcement of the Off Highway Vehicle act to academy cadets so they can learn the laws on OHV’s in New Mexico.

The Department’s annual exhibit at the New Mexico State Fair will be open to fair attendees Sept. 7-17 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., featuring live fish species and educational displays. Department staff will also be on hand to answer questions from the public.

This course includes a live fire session on the Dept.s pellet rifle trailer and is open to students of any age seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led student course that incorporates lecture, video, break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Students 10 and under must have a parent/adult present with them during class. All students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. Students can pick up a free hard copy manual at the Roswell Game & Fish Office (M-F 8am-5pm) or the manual can also be downloaded for free at, www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/. Students are required to turn in their completed manual worksheets and live fire authorization forms upon arrival to class.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents an off-highway motorcycle safety class open to the general public. Students earn the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under the age of 18 years.
Off-highway motorcycles and safety gear are available for use during the class. A parent or guardian must remain on site during the class.
Space is limited -all students must have a free account with the Department of Game and Fish (https://onlinesales.wildlife.state.nm.us). Students must be at least 6 years of age.
New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Aquatic Education program staff will be fishing with up to 25 youth from the Santa Fe home-school community. Department staff will be on hand to teach the kids how to tie a fishing knot, set up a fishing rig and practice casting skills before fishing.

NMDGF will be doing various outdoor activities with a girl scout group. Activities will include casting, archery and wildlife presentation.

New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Aquatic Education program staff will be fishing with 40 elementary school kids from Dolores Gonzales Elementary School at Tingley Beach. Department staff will review knot tying, setting up a fishing rig and casting procedures and how to put a rig together. Participants will then set up their own rigs to fish.
