This course is an instructor-led student course that incorporates lecture, video, break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Students 10 and under must have a parent/adult present with them during class. All students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. THIS IS A INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE EVENT THAT IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC
NMDGF will be giving two presentations on rattlesnakes, bears and cougars to PNM staff.
This class is open to women who are interested in learning the basics of fly fishing. This session will focus on fly fishing equipment selection, knot tying, selecting lures/flies, reading the water for best catching results, skills to hook, land and release a fish, what you need before you go, and much more! This is a BYOL (bring your own lunch event).
This class is being offered by volunteers from the Bosque Chapter of Trout Unlimited, and no equipment is required.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents an ATV safety class provided by the Village of Los Lunas Open Space Division. Students earn the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under 18 years of age.
ATVs and safety gear are available for use during the class.

The NMDGF Aquatic Education program will be participating in the annual Rio Rancho Children’s Water Festival. Aquatic Education staff will be running the casting skills station for up to 25 fifth grade students at a time. The casting skills station will be one of four activity stations at the festival, and students will rotate and participate in all four stations.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents a class on enforcement of the Off Highway Vehicle act to academy cadets so they can learn the laws on OHV’s in New Mexico.
