Big Game Draw 2022 – Meet the Bighorn Sheep Biologist @ Virtual

Have you thought about applying for the 2022 big game draw? The Department is working on an entire series with everything you need to know when applying.

We will meet virtually every week, sometimes multiple times a week, to discuss the draw, how to apply, options for hunter education and reading the draw odds report. We will also have our big game biologists on hand to answer questions.

In this session: Caitlin Ruhl, bighorn sheep program manager, will be on hand to answer questions about applying for and hunting bighorn sheep in New Mexico.

Outdoor Day for Disadvantaged Youth @ Tree's Lake, Deming

The NMDGF aquatic education and archery coordinators, Dennis Segura and Bruce Atencio, will be participating in the March 5, Deming Tree’s Lake Outdoor Day. The participants are disadvantaged youth, most of which have never fished, or participated in archery. There will be an estimated 75 youth participating.

Event open to the public. Participants must register before March 5 to participate.

Deadline: 2021–2022 Late Harvest Reports

Deadline to submit late 2021–22 harvest reports for deer, elk, pronghorn antelope and turkey. All 2021–22 license holders must report to be eligible for 2022–23 draw licenses. Reports can be submitted online or by telephone

Failure to report for these species by this date will result in rejection of all draw applications. An $8 late fee applies after February 15, 2022. Remember to keep your confirmation number.

2022-23 New Mexico Hunting Rules & Info Book


Fecha límite para presentar informes de cosecha 2021–2022 tardíos de venado, uapití, berrendo y pavo. Todos los titulares de licencias 2021–2022 deben presentar informe para ser elegibles para las licencias por sorteo 2022–2023. Los informes se pueden enviar en línea o por teléfono.
