The Department’s annual exhibit at the New Mexico State Fair will be open to fair attendees Sept. 7-17 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., featuring live fish species and educational displays. Department staff will also be on hand to answer questions from the public.

This class is open to any lady seeking to learn or improve on their fly fishing, casting skills and abilities. Participants will receive instruction and coaching from Trish Valdez and other Trout Unlimited – Bosque Chapter members to gain or improve their fly casting skills for fly fishing. No equipment is necessary but ladies are encouraged to bring their own if they have it. This is for all levels of angler!

This workshop is the hands-on portion of a hybrid National Archery in the School Program (NASP) model for certification as a NASP Basic Archery Instructor. NASP-certified instructors can present the NASP curriculum to students in grades 4-12 throughout New Mexico.

This course is an instructor-led, student course that incorporates lecture, video, break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Students 10 and under must have a parent/adult present with them during class. All students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. Students can pick up a free hard copy manual at the Roswell Country Club, 2601 Urton Rd., Roswell, New Mexico 88201. The manual can also be downloaded for free at, www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/. Students are required to turn in their completed manual worksheets upon arrival to class.
