This course will be conducted during the school day to Dexter High School students seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led, student course that incorporates lecture, video, break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. All students will complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework during class. Students pick up a free hard copy manual during Felix Hernandez’s class. The manual can also be downloaded for free at www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/. This event is closed to the public.

Hunting season is upon us! You are invited to our September session where we will be discussing hunting New Mexico’s largest game animal, the wapiti (elk). Our conversation will focus on looking for habitats where elk like to hang out, identifying elk sign, elk hunting gear tips, and basic calling techniques. While this event is focused on ladies, we welcome everyone to join us.
