These workshops are for the third graders of Carlos Gilbert Elem. The fishing workshops will consist of fishing safety, knots, equipment, casting, and fish identification. A fish dissection will also be conducted with the classes. Fishing will be at Monastery Lake.
New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Aquatic Education program staff will be fishing with students from Carlos Gilbert Elementary School (Trout in the Classroom participants). The fishing will follow the rainbow trout fry release. This event is closed to the public.
This fishing clinic is for the fourth graders of Valencia Elementary. The fishing clinic will consist of fishing safety, knots, equipment, casting, and fish identification. Fishing will be at Oasis State Parks.
Department staff will be fishing and showing wildlife trunks to kids with the Moriarty-Edgewood School District Early Childhood Center.

This camp is for participants of any age who is interested in learning more about the basics of archery and bow hunting. Participants will learn archery basics and safety, how to choose equipment, proper shot placement while hunting, outdoor preparedness, and more!
All archery equipment will be provided however, participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment if they have it. Camping is available at the State Park per reservation. Participants are responsible for all food and drinks. Youth under 18 must have a parent or adult present during the camp.
