This course is open to students seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led student course that incorporates lecture, video, virtual break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students and will also include a live-fire portion on the range (all firearms and ammunition is provided. Personal firearms are not permitted). Students 10 and under must have a parent/adult present with them during class. The Department of Game and Fish and the Department of Veterans Services have teamed up to provide open house opportunities to community veterans seeking information about unique services and opportunities provided to them. Each agency, along with other partners, will be available to answer questions as well as register veterans for programs, services and opportunities during this event. The Game and Fish Department will specifically provide information on hunting and angling opportunities available to veterans as well as provide help in purchasing licenses and applying for hunting opportunities through the public draw.
