Introduction to archery for all ages. Come out and shoot our NASP bows and arrows. Personal recurve and long bows are allowed, but NO COMPOUND BOWS. We will have classic NASP targets set up as well as a short 3-D target course. 8 a.m. to Noon – Shoot as much as you want. All are welcome to attend. NM Fishing License required ages 12 and over.

NMDGF will be working an informational/educational booth at the Bear Fest in Los Alamos.
NMDGF will be giving a wildlife presentation to students at Bloomfield High School.

This course will be conducted during the school day to Dexter High School students seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led, student course that incorporates lecture, video, break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. All students will complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework during class. Students pick up a free hard copy manual during Felix Hernandez’s class. The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish was asked to provide Off-Highway Vehicle Act certification training to basic State Police Academy cadets at the New Mexico Dept of Public Safety Academy. This event is free but not open to the public. The certification training will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico at a closed to the public indoor training facility.
Department staff and volunteers assist NMSU Cooperative Extension Service by judging 4-H projects submitted for exhibit at the New Mexico State Fair. Projects judged are in the shooting sports, natural resource and sports fishing categories.
