Hunter Education (Las Cruces) @ Las Cruces Game and Fish Office

This course is open to students seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led, student course that incorporates lectures, videos, virtual break-out sessions, review methods, and homework to educate students.  Students 10 and under must have a parent/adult present with them during class. All students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. Students can pick up a free hard copy manual from Las Cruces Game and Fish Office, 2715 E Northrise Dr., Las Cruces, NM 88011, M-F, 8am-5pm. The manual can be downloaded for free at, www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/. Students are required to turn in their completed manual worksheets upon arrival to class.

 

Registration opens on March 3 and is conducted online through the students Customer ID number (CIN) Account. Once in the account, click on Hunter Education then click the register for Hunter Ed Classes button and follow the prompts.

ROSWELL – The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish has scheduled a public meeting with the Citizen Advisory Committee. Members of the public are invited to attend this hybrid public meeting in order to provide comments.

Scout Fishing Workshop and Clinic (Albuquerque)

This event is for a Boy Scout Troop in Albuquerque. The workshop will consist of fishing safety, knots, equipment, casting, fish identification and fishing skills. The fishing clinic will be held at Tingley Beach.

ATV Safety Class @ Village of Los Lunas River Park

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Off-Highway Vehicle Program presents an ATV safety class provided by the Village of Los Lunas Open Space Division. Students earn the safety permit required for off-highway vehicle operators under the age of 18 years.

ATVs and safety gear are available for use during the class.

Space is limited – all students must have a free account with the Department of Game and Fish (https://onlinesales.wildlife.state.nm.us/). Students must be at least 6 years of age.
