Veterans Open House @ NE Area Game & Fish Office

The Department of Game and Fish and the Department of Veterans Services have teamed up to provide open house opportunities to community veterans seeking information about unique services and opportunities provided to them. Each agency, along with other partners, will be available to answer questions as well as register veterans for programs, services and opportunities during this event. The Game and Fish Department will specifically provide information on hunting and angling opportunities available to veterans as well as provide help in purchasing licenses and applying for hunting opportunities through the public draw.

Hunter Education @ Lea County Fairgrounds
Feb 10 – Feb 11 all-day

This course is open to students of any age seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led, student course that incorporates lecture, video, break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Students 10 and under must have a parent/adult present with them during class. All students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class. Students can pick up a free hard copy manual at Eunice Pump Supply, 321 N Main, Lovington, NM. The manual can also be downloaded for free at, www.hunter-ed.com/newmexico/manual/. Students are required to turn in their completed manual worksheets upon arrival to class.

Registration opens on Jan. 23 and is conducted online through the students Customer Id Number (CIN) Account. Once in the account, click on Hunter Education then click the Register for Hunter Ed Classes button and follow the prompts.

Wild Turkey Presentations @ V. Sue Cleveland High School

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish will give two wild turkey presentations to wildlife students at V. Sue Cleveland High School. The students are studying game birds that week. This event is closed to the public.

Hunter Education @ Alamo Wellness Center
Feb 10 @ 4:00 pm – Feb 12 @ 5:00 pm

This course is open to students of any age seeking hunter education certification to meet hunting requirements in New Mexico. This course is an instructor-led, student course that incorporates lecture, video, break-out sessions, review methods and homework to educate students. Students 10 and under must have a parent/adult present with them during class. All students MUST complete the Today’s Hunter student manual homework before participating in class.
