Big Game Draw 2022 – Meet the Turkey Biologist @ Virtual

Have you thought about applying for the 2022 big game draw? The Department is working on an entire series with everything you need to know when applying.

We will meet virtually every week, sometimes multiple times a week, to discuss the draw, how to apply, options for hunter education and reading the draw odds report. We will also have our big game biologists on hand to answer questions.

In this session: Casey Cardinal, resident bird biologist, will be on hand to answer your questions about applying for the Turkey Draw as well as over-the-counter opportunities. Don’t forget that the deadline for applying for the bear and cougar turkey deadline is February 12 at 5:00 p.m.

This event is for the Monte del Sol Charter School Biology class. On Feb. 10 there will be a one hour workshop for each class. We will be learning about the fish of New Mexico, gear safety, gear preparation and casting. On Feb. 11 we will be doing a fish dissection class.

Deadline to submit 2021–22 harvest reports for deer, elk, pronghorn and turkey license holders. Reports can be submitted online or by telephone. Late fees apply after this date.

Early Results 2022 Bear & Turkey Draw Permits

Update: We will be releasing draw results for bear and turkey permits February 16th at 6 am (a week early).

Results for 2022 bear and turkey draw permits available online and telephone and at NMDGF offices. Permits will be available in the E-Tag app and can be printed on standard paper after the appropriate license(s) are purchased.

Deadline: 2021–2022 Late Harvest Reports

Deadline to submit late 2021–22 harvest reports for deer, elk, pronghorn antelope and turkey. All 2021–22 license holders must report to be eligible for 2022–23 draw licenses. Reports can be submitted online or by telephone

Failure to report for these species by this date will result in rejection of all draw applications. An $8 late fee applies after February 15, 2022. Remember to keep your confirmation number.
